The G-8 Global Partnership Against the Spread of Weapons and Materials of Mass Destruction (GP) is a vital international security and nonproliferation tool. It is the primary multilateral arrangement for financial commitments to implement and coordinate chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear threat reduction activities on a global scale.

Ivo H. Daalder, U.S. Permanent Representative to NATOIvo H. Daalder was appointed the United States Ambassador to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization by President Barack Obama in May 2009. He was a director for European Affairs on President Clinton's National Security Council staff from 1995 to 1997, where he was responsible for coordinating U.S. policy toward Bosnia.
